Fran

Fran Lee is an original member of Voices for Change and the self-advocacy journey has changed her life. She is a former president of Brain Injury Matters and is passionate about the self-advocacy movement.

Fran has acquired two brain injuries in her life, one from a car accident and the other by a stroke. Her story of rehabilitation and hope is powerful and she wants to share the self-advocacy message with others who may be feeling isolated and without hope.

Fran speaks on a range of issues relating to disability, such as the effects of stigmatising language and the importance of peer support groups. She has shared her lived experience expertise at many consultations within the health and justice sectors as a member of Voices for Change.
